The Gender Pensions Gap: What is it and What Can We Do About It?
The article explores the gender pensions gap, highlighting factors such as earnings disparities, caregiving-related career breaks, and part-time work that disproportionately impact women. It discusses the implications for women’s retirement financial security and suggests strategies for employers and policymakers to address this issue. In Greece, however, targeted interventions have been lacking, and favorable provisions for women, like early retirement options for mothers, have been gradually eliminated following pension reforms since 2015.
